Personal development gift #1: Books

Reading and learning is the foundation of personal development. There are so many inspiring and life-changing books out there to choose from.

I’m always looking for new books to read, new authors to find, and new ideas to try!

Here are a few of my favorite personal development books for inspiration:

Personal development gift #2: Audible membership

Audible is an online platform where you can download and listen to books. This is perfect for people who prefer to listen to books instead of reading them.

I absolutely love listening to audiobooks while I’m doing other things: walking the dog, driving, cleaning the house, etc. It’s a great way to squeeze in extra learning time, especially for busy people!

So if your loved one already loves podcasts, they’ll love Audible

You can select the membership duration (1, 3, 6, and 12 months) and let them enjoy their books in audio form.

Personal development gift #3: Amazon kindle

Keeping in the reading category, the Amazon Kindle is awesome. It stores all of your books in one place, which is so cool, especially when traveling! You can download any book instantly and start reading immediately. It’s also a great space saver!

This is the perfect gift for the avid reader that’s always on the go!

Personal development gift #4: Yoga equipment

Part of many people’s personal development and self-growth journey involves practicing some form of yoga (I know mine does!).

Yoga is a wonderful tool to connect to your true self, step away from your ego, and get out of your head.

So whether your loved one is a seasoned yogi or just beginning their yoga journey, here are ideas for you to pick from:

You can’t do yoga without a mat! This mat is extra thick which makes it wonderful for kneeling exercises. It also comes with a very handy should strap.

A yoga block is a must-have in any yoga practice, especially for beginners. They allow the practitioner to deepen, lengthen, and extend different poses.

A bolster is like a pillow but firmer and it helps the practitioner relax, soften a posture, or aids in opening the body.

Yes, a yoga mat needs cleaning! It’s important to clean the mat on a regular basis but not with just anything. My suggestion is ti use a non-toxic, gentle mat cleaner and this one is amazing! It’s all-natural, eco-friendly, with a wonderful rose scent from organic rose essential oil.

Personal development gift #5: Guided meditation apps

Just like yoga, meditation goes hand in hand with personal development. It’s a great way to relax, get in touch with your heart center, and let go of what’s bothering you.

But let’s face it, it can be daunting when starting out. It’s easy to let thoughts invade your mind so my recommendation is to gift a guided meditation app subscription!

Here are the best meditation apps:

  • Headspace: This app is loaded with many different types of meditations to choose from like anxiety, better sleep, improved focus, etc…
  • Calm: This app is perfect for peace of mind. It comes full of walking meditations, body scans, masterclasses, and Sleep Stories.
  • Aura: This is the app for the super busy person in your life. It’s full of 3-minute meditations when stressful situations arise (but also longer meditations if needed!)
  • 10% happier: The best app for those who are skeptical about or feel they suck at meditation!

Personal development gift #6: Journal

Journaling is my go-to personal development practice, as it is for most people! It’s a great way to let all of your emotions out, process what’s going on in your head, and make sense of what’s going on in your life.

Here are a few options you can choose from. However, as journaling can be quite personal, make sure you know in advance the style that would be best for the person you have in mind!

This is a great journal to use to include more gratitude in your life and appreciate the little things. As its name implies, it only takes 5 minutes a day to fill out so it’s perfect for busy people who have little time.

Keeping a dream journal is a great way to record your dreams, interpret them,  and gain some insight into your subconscious.

This is a blank journal that you can fill up with whatever you choose! It’s perfect for seasoned journalists who don’t need any specific prompting to get their thoughts onto paper.

I’m sure you’ve heard of these since they’ve been all the rage these last few years and for good reason! These journals are great for organizing your life and letting your creative side out as well!

Personal development gift #7: Goal planner

As anyone interested in personal development knows, setting your goals is the first step towards reaching them! And the best way to do that is to use a goal planner. It enables you to keep track of them, to see what steps you need to take, and how far you’ve come!

Personal development gift #8: Positive affirmation/gratitude cards

A great way to promote personal development is through positive affirmations and gratitude. Repeating these powerful words and phrases can do wonders for a happier life.

I find that cards are a great way to include positive affirmations in my morning routine.

These Power of Thought cards by Louise Hay are my favorite. They are bright, colorful, with wonderful affirmations and beautiful designs. I pick one each morning to repeat and look at while I’m getting ready for the day!

Personal development gift #9: Self-care box

Knowing when to take care of yourself is a big part of self-growth. Taking time to relax and destress is essential for a balanced happy life.

Why not gift your loved ones a self-care box? It contains everything one would need to relax after a long day. And who doesn’t love to spend a few hours doing nothing?

Make it cruelty-free and you’re good to go!
